I know it's an opinion piece, but still.. quite possibly silliest article I have read in a long time.

According to the author, the reason you shouldn't buy Canon isn't quality or richness of their offerings or ergonomics or their corporate responsibility or lack thereof, or any number of objective or subjective reasons any consumer may choose to use, but rather...

because Canon cameras are apparently a) boring b) commonplace, and c) ugly. Oy vey.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Ha! I had to look at the date of the article, I thought it was an April Fools joke.

Leica’s SL2 just shouts out: “Look at me! I’m a photographer with passion.”

This might be the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.

What a Leica says to me: "Look at me! I just bought a $1,000 camera & paid $4,000 tax."

When I see a photographer with pro Canon & Nikon gear I see people that are serious about getting a job done.

Read and laughed. Wonder Fstoppers publishing an article dumb like it.

I never find Canikon gear to be attractive. I mean DSLR and mirrorless. Yet, to me Canon EOS is best in ergonomics for AF cameras with advanced functions.
And I never ever seen FujOlieca cameras on sport events. Not even one.
Except me fooling with Leica just as spectacular. But none among accredited photogs. Majority is with Canikon DSLRs still.

Of course, I don't buy them for what they look like. I did that once, and now I have Fuji for sale that I never shoot, and no one wants to buy...

Oddly, I feel like the EOS R5, and some of the M series, are great looking cameras. Not sure what they did with the mirrorless that works so much better than their DSLR.
Other than the older NIMH powered 1D bodies and 1V, I never liked the look of any of the SLR since the silver bricks of the FD era.

noun: sensationalism
1. (especially in journalism) the presentation of stories in a way that is intended to provoke public interest or excitement, at the expense of accuracy.

Example: Northrups and now, clearly, FStoppers.

Assuming of course above posts are accurate, I won't click the bait to check as that just makes them money.
If you value worthwhile information, for every sensationalist story you click, go to Bryan Carnathan's site (or other credible reviewer of your choice) and click some of their links at least twice.

I put on this camo skin to commemorate my daughter's decision to enter the armed services... This will likely eventually become her camera.

The only thing is that when I place in a bunch of pigeon poo on the deck railings, I keep losing it.

===

And I don't know what happened to fstoppers, I stopped reading their articles quite some time back.

- The mirror fell out of the 5D2? Nope, that was the 5D, from 2005. Get with the times Ivor!
- You haven't owned Canon gear because of what your "mentor" said about the looks of the Canon gear? Get a new mentor.
- EOS R5 overheating? That was solved by a firmware update.
- The 5D3 was too oversized for your effeminate hands? Then look at the 6D2, it's basically the same type of camera in a smaller package. Ivor, meaning archer or bow warrior, probably couldn't even find a bow that would fit the hands either. I guess the name doesn't quite fit the product there.
- Ratings for how much a company is affecting climate change? Really? Sounds so scientific, but yet not provable, so not a good metric to base a purchase.
- Having a large range of products is bad for the planet and Ivor's mental health... since when is having so many good choices a bad thing?
- Olympus oozes sexiness? Really? It looks alot like many of the antique cameras I see in the antique malls. I guess if you like sex with old dusty things, then that camera is just right for you.
- I found the 220+ comments more entertaining!

This is what I think of this article. It is good clickbait though. Any clicks, even bad clicks, count...
