Thank you Alfredo!

I had lower expectations for this general-purpose zoom, but the sunstar is a nice surprise. :)

What do you think of it David?
I've debated swapping the Tamron 28-75 in for the 24-105 a few times!

So far I think it’s quite good. I bought it because I wanted that exact zoom range and I think it’s fun and convenient to shoot. I’m very pleased with my decision to buy it because it’s a perfect fit for my intended use. Looking forward to giving it a lot more use. I’ll try to continue to make remarks about the lens as I use it more to add more depth. :)

Is it sharp? Seems good, but the truth is I haven’t even really bothered to seriously pixel-peep it.

I've been playing with lighting and editing to come up with a self-portrait that I can use along with 5 generations of my lineage. Pay no attention to the clothes...or hair, in my test shot. I'll wear a coat and tie for the final shot.

Here's my test shot so far along with five generations that came before me. My 3rd great grandfather on the far right was born in 1794 and George Washington was the President. These will all be printed separately and framed. In fact, all but my dad and I are already printed and framed.

The only known photo of my grandfather is of him, his twin, and their younger brother. I don't even know which of the twins in the photo is my grandfather so it's a fifty/fifty guess.

I'd prefer to use a younger photo of myself but the only one of have of me wearing a coat and tie is my High School Graduation photo. I may wind up using it in the end anyway.

This was the reward view from a recent hike a few weeks ago. Made it in time for the storm clouds to roll in before dumping some snow on the mountain.

An early congrats on completing Dental School Ben and good luck in your residency. Are you going to go into a specialty and if so, which one? Maybe Orthodontics?

I recently found one of my cephalometric tracings I did back when I was in the field. I dealt with a lot of patients who were about the same age as this one.

Thanks! I am doing a general practice residency (GPR) at a level 1 trauma center next year, so it will be very urgent care heavy with some on call duties, but still plenty of prosth/elective treatment. I am most interested in oral surgery, but planning on sticking with general dentistry for now. If I choose to specialize in oral surgery, it is another 4-6 years depending on the program (6-year ones award an M.D. after completing the 3rd and 4th years of medical school during the program).

We had an ortho rotation this year and last with lots of ceph tracings! Evidently computers have gotten very good at doing the calculations for you, but we still learned to trace by hand. I'm surprised you dealt with such young patients!

Thank you! It's hard to believe there's an end to all of this schooling :-P

I guess that's why continuing education is a thing!

Just for fun I’m watching this video of a guy doing “Street Photography” with an a7S III and his shots are convincing me that I want a Sigma 85mm DG DN Art. I would love to buy the FE 50mm 1.2 GM, but I think my Sigma 35mm 1.2 Art and the 85mm 1.4 Art would make a killer pair for shooting on the streets.

Oral Surgery is both a challenging and rewarding career path and I'm sure you'll do well if you decide to go that route. I did work for Oral Surgeons and Periodontists as well as our bread and butter Orthodontic work. I've even done some forensic dental x-ray which was certainly different than my usual patient interaction. :p

Most of my Ortho patients were pre-teen or teenaged to begin with but as baby boomers grew into adulthood, I started to get referrals for more and more adult Ortho patients. I had braces when I was about 33 years old myself.

One thing I don't like about all these youtubers is shooting with a camera at arms length. Do they do this to show us the viewer what they shooting or they just shoot like that or maybe this a cool way to shoot? I have seen some well known model shooters do same and to me I wouldn't never do that. But then I won't be using my 70-200mm f2.8 with hood reverse and silly filter on it either.

Man, my kids orthodontist makes quite a bit of money with all the kids he sees and to me it looks much easier work than what other dentists do.

I think some people just like composing with the rear LCD and not the evf. What’s a silly filter ?
