Non insect macros anyone?

So many lenses say "macro" but are not even close to being macro. I have the 24-70 F/4 & must admit the macro setting with that lens isn't too bad. Obviously never replace a dedicated macro but works good enough that if you are walking around & see something you want to get close to there is no need to change lenses.

Some bamboo looking plant-weed thing in my backyard. I don't recall if this is a double or an HDR with some camera shake.

Not perfect, but eggsactly what I need one week after Easter, especially considering this camera was dead with a damaged card reader, and can't find parts for it anymore.
