These are sooo good, Charles. Really beautiful.
You are fortunate to be living in a place where you get to photograph these amazing animals in the wild.

Thanks so much Levina. I do count myself quite fortunate in that respect.

Name is Charles

Finally pulled the trigger and bought an RF 100-500. Tested it out at sunset last night with Whisper in the pasture. So impressive. Just uploaded the new firmware. Looking forward to having lots of fun with this setup.

Helicopters are lots of fun to shoot. However, there should be blur to the rotors. That makes it even more fun (challenging?) because you typically need to shoot at 1/100th or less! You might also need a 3-stop ND filter to keep the aperture low enough to prevent diffraction. The R5 + 100-400 II should be a great combination for this. Here's an example (not R5, but it was the 100-400II).

This was 1/80th, ISO 100, f/22 (should have used my ND filter).

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Nice Super/Sea Cobra :)

Edit, Duh, the image shows the 4 rotors so clearly, I should have realized this is a Viper immediately. That said, i never liked that fact that they changed the name of what is a direct descendant of the Cobra.

Very new to Canon...I am a Fuji APS-C shooter, and dabbled in GFX before settling on the Canon R5 (last week!) for hi-res with a bit more flexibility. Not much of a bird shooter :-) but stumbled across a car show at Red Rocks, CO for my first day out.

Love the RF 15-35mm f2.8. Not as keen on the sharpness of the RF 24-105mm f4 (pics 1 and 4)...

Haven't got my arms around the color processing yet...I'm colorblind and rely on the Fuji 'styles' in LR/C1. Haven't found a go-to for the R5; suggestions welcome. More of a B&W shooter anyway...

Wow, fully or partially? My cousin is partially but getting worse. I send him BW images mostly.
