A couple images I took during my wildflower adventures in the Columbia River Gorge earlier this week.

I got the car but it's overdone, so nothing special. Surprisingly, no ticks.

Spent an hour sitting on the bank of the lake, Swan - as usual - slunk over to say hello and the ducks were in fine form.
Took a load of shots but here's two.

Really love those! Looking forward to getting back to birding soon (though on my Sony system ;)).

Can I ask, were those taken with the 100-400?

A journey of giraffes | I took delivery of my new X100V yesterday. I never intended to use it much for wildlife shooting but I came across this amazing scene and needed a wide angle. So i grabbed the fuji and got some amazing shots.

Really loving all the shots lately

Here’s today’s photo and yes it’s of one of our swans.
Swans are friendly today, although nesting there is no aggression from either of them. Here you can see the Cob with the Pen on the nest.
Shot this on my X-PRO2 and the little 18/2 as I didn’t get the new one yet but hopefully some new gear soon from Fuji to shoot for a few weeks.

Good stuff, I guess they must really be used to you if you can get close enough to shoot this with a 18mm crop lens... I really love it!

A POTN member recently remarked how lucky I was that I live in an area where I get to often photograph animals in the wild. Yesterday I was reminded of this after driving 30 minutes to a nearby reserve to observe a beautiful sunset complete with 2 stunning subjects - a giraffe mom and her calf.

Thanks very much.
Yes they are very trusting of me, they are nine years old this year and are well use to me and the camera, particularly the last couple of years as they finally started laying eggs.

I had an amazing trusting moment last year when I was in the river photographing them and the six youngsters, the swans corralled the cygnets over to where I was and let them be right beside me. That was quite something to be part off. Don’t think I even took a photo as I had the 100-400 on.
