I love the Sigma 56. That and the Canon 22 are my faves on m series.

I think the only thing stopping me from getting the Sigma 56mm is I already have that focal length area covered with my R6 and it’s lenses but I got nothing wider than 35mm on either system. In saying that though, if I had the 56mm it would be great for when I travel to carry just those 3 lenses.

Would be nice to see Canon give users a bit of love for the M line soon. The 62mm macro would be great. As much as I like the EF40mm, the 50 is passable and the 100L, neither are in that nice range for what I would like in macro type of shots. I've used the 12mm extension tube which works but again, not quite the look I'm wanting.

Canon could easily keep the EF-M mount going and make it the more compact/light consumer friendly line and if they make APSC RF bodies, just make them the higher end bodies like the R7. Essentially the M series could replace the rebel bodies in a way if that makes sense.

Haha happy but guilty! Knowing my luck Canon will announce an EF-M 15mm f/2 then I’ll really be in trouble...

I’ve wanted the 56mm for a long time though and with the M50 II I feel I can finally justify it!

My most used lenses on the m6II... 22, 56, 100-400 II. I have 18-150, 55-200, 11-22 (which is pretty good), and the sigma 30...the first three are what I use though.

Wow you got quite a few! I had the 11-22mm but sold it since I pretty much never use it. Otherwise I got the 15-45mm kit which isn’t used either, the 22mm and 32mm.

I have the Tamron 100-400mm but that’s mainly used with the R6. I wouldn’t mind adding a UWA prime for the M50 II, just need Canon to release one

In fairness I’ve only picked up the m62 once since getting the R5...but it has its place when I want to keep the kit small.

Don’t worry I can relate, I was like that with the M5 once I got the R6! Although now the M50II is the new toy so it’s the opposite haha.

It sure does! I’ve been carrying it a lot more with the 22mm and I feel it does really well for these types of casual shots!

I'm contemplating buying an M50 Mark II to use as a carry around camera when I don't feel like lugging around my 1Dx Mk II. My current backup is a G12 which is a pretty good little camera but the M50 has caught my eye.
Plus with an adapter I could use some of my L glass on it and it sounds like it would be a good - if not quite pocketable - walking around camera. The fact its got a viewfinder is a big plus for me and the focusing system sounds pretty great.
I don't want to start duplicating lens systems with RF lenses since I've finally got all of the EF lenses I need or want. I mostly shoot car shows and architecture with the urge to do some more landscapes but the latter two are what I have the 1Dx for.
I was thinking an M50 might be a nice addition for family gatherings and casual local car shows. I've got an EF 40 STM but I'd probably get the 15-45 kit lens with the M50 for general use and try out my L glass for different situations.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you want something small and pocketable and like the 35mm focal length, the 22mm is arguably a must have for every M Mount owner! You might find too that you don’t initially plan on adding lenses but it can be too hard to resist once you get started and give it a try

I personally love the M50 II and I’m really glad I made the swap from the M5. I’ve honestly always been a FF snob but I can honestly say I don’t feel limited by the M5 II. Actually after my last road trip which I took the M5 along with me, I was really impressed with the IQ of it and I consider the M50 II to be even better than that.
