Carl chilling on the couch. My poor guys know something is up. One by one their favorite perches are finding their way into the moving POD. It's going to be a rough few weeks for them, but the new house has potential for great kitty spots:-)

Ed, I'd say feed them some watered down wet food on the trip. Between the nervousness, AC and dry air they might get dehydrated. You can check by pulling up on their skin. 3,000 miles of them both singing their songs...

Thanks! We will have their normal fountain set up in the hotel every night, plus we did get tranquilizers, just in case they get too upset or scared.

Back in Dec 1982/Jan 1983 I drove from Millington TN to Tustin CA changing duty station while in the Marines.

The cat we had at the time was very comfortable with car travel, spending the time split between sleeping on the dashboard or rear deck.

Even used the litter box I had on backseat floor board.

I imagine there are few kitties who do so well on that long of a car ride.
