I have to say that animal eye works better than I anticipated.

Early start this morning for a sunrise shoot. Left at 5am, 30 min drive, for 6am sunrise. So I was well in advance for a change! Good job too; I was returning to this spot as it was ablaze with Rapeseed this time last year. This year, nothing. So at least I had some time to change my plan. Pleased with the results, especially the second one.

Thanks. Not a blue bell in sight! I did however learn that sun/earth move quite a bit just before the sun pops up above the horizon. For that first pic I reckon I had the sun perfectly just to the left of the tree (based on the brightest part if the sky) by the time it popped up it was plumb behind the tree, and I couldnt move anymore to the left as there were a bunch of brambles!! So I had to accept the sun on the right of the tree which doesnt quite work as well. Little things!!

If you download the photographers ephemeris app it will show you the exact point the sun(and moon) will rise and fall from a location. You can even plan in advance as it tells you the time it will happen

Yeah. I've mis-guessed like that a few times! You'll have to go back nearer June ;)

I put the RS-2 to work for the first time today. It is going to take some practice. Good thing the weather and light was crap, everything will be useless from today anyway.

I've been playing with 17 x 6 panoramas using images from my Sony a7r at Bombay Beach, Ca.

To see all the detail, I've uploaded this image at the max allowed on Flickr, 6144px on the long side. Now I'm motivated to get back down there before it gets too hot with my a7rIV.

I think I prefer the OOF areas of the Bigma over the GM. My wallet likes the 35i, but want the f/1.4 of the GM.

I'd love to see more comparisons of the GM and 35i on the A7R4 body.

...inquiring minds want to know which lens you plan to keep to use with the A7R4?
