First shots with it from a few weeks ago, sitting in a wildlife park blind, using a monopod.

I've seen a lot of pictures of birds in this thread, which is sensible. It's a great birding lens.

I shot some birds myself this morning. Boy, these ones are NOISY when they fly directly over your head!

'Bird droppings' from them types would do more than mess up your newly washed car..
Nice image! The Blue Angels are going to have a show in Corpus Christi the first weekend in May ... I gotta practice up on shooting fast moving objects with that Sigma.:-)

I don’t know if it made much of a splash up in the Northern Hemisphere, but we had that rare combination of a full moon that was at its closest point to the earth and a full lunar eclipse. The last one was forty years ago. Down in NZ we were treated to the whole show and it was a cold, clear night, so great for visibility.

The proof that I am not an astro-photographer is at hand. I had high hopes that I would get a good series of images of the blood moon, but the moon was so high in the sky (almost directly overhead) that the tripod was severely unbalanced and difficult to hold still. Nevertheless, I managed to get a few images – better than nothing.

Blood Moon 01 is the first image out of the system, and is uncropped.
Canon EOS 90D Sigma 150-600 C @600 with Canon MkIII 1.4x extender. f/9, 1.3sec, ISO-2000 Because of the crop sensor, the Equivalent FoV was 1344mm.

Blood Moon 02: I got another one when the moon was in greater shadow. I had removed the 1.4x extender at this point to be able to open up the aperture more and had also increased the ISO to compensate for the lowering light, so:
Canon EOS 90D, Sigma 150-600C @ 600mm, f/6.3, 1/2 sec, ISO-2500, Equivalent FoV 960mm: also uncropped.

As the moon rose higher the tripod became impossible to manage, so I just stared up in wonder and humble appreciation... Moonstruck.
