Waterscapes and long exposures have been my thing for a good few years now, but after a long and painful period carrying full frame cameras and heavy Ls I recently downsized and am spending a while seeing what I can wring out of the one inch sensor in an RX10iv, in the spirit of experimentation as much as anything else. The genre I had the lowest expectation for was this - seascapes and long exposures - but it does a reasonable job all the same, considering how relatively little you have to carry for such a versatile range.

This is the Bathing House in Northumberland, taken with an RX10 mk IV, a £15 ten stop ND and a broken Vanguard tripod :) the dynamic range was much wider than it appears here, I deliberately pushed the whites into clipping territory to give it a bit of a stormy glow, as you can probably tell.

Exactly the feel I was going for :) it's a great location and easy to get good pictures there but the light had a luminous quality to it that evening and I thought it'd push the exposure in quite an interesting direction

Staithes at Lindisfarne on a rising tide. These are the same staithes I posted in the minimalist thread.

RX10iv with Formatt Hitech 16 stop ND. This is a stack of four thirty second exposures since I forgot to take my threaded cable release.

All the world's indeed a stage and we are merely players performers and portrayers.
