My apologies for posting one more scan. If anyone finds this out of line, please let me know.

This is another photo I scanned today using my new plugin of my future wife in the center with her mom on the left as you look at the photo and her older sister on the right. This was probably taken around 1960, so about 61 years ago.

I scanned the negative as a positive in Silverfast 9 as a 48 bit HDR RAW file. I opened the negative in LR Classic and using the Negative Lab Pro plugin, converted it to a positive image. I finished editing in PS by removing dust and adding the black border. On my previous scan, I hadn't realized that when I imported the image from LR to PS, it had the color profile set to Pro Photo. I couldn't figure out why the uploaded image looked duller than on my computer. Now I have the color profile set to sRGB in LR.

Needless to say, I'm pleased with the results I'm getting. Oh, that's a Nash Rambler Stationwagon behind them. When we married, that was the car my wife drove for a few years.

The scans are awesome. At least I like them and you have done excellent work converting that scan to an image. The car is awesome and that Bud ad in the corner caught my eye. I just love the old advertising.

Today a healthcare-based art company sent me a request to purchase a 1-use license to print around a dozen of my photos. I've made this sort of sale many times over the years. But, this particular company sends me an email with this line in it: "Also, let us know your preferred payment method so we can pay you after we acquire the files." I'm just about 95% reject any dealings with them at this point. Meaning, even if they might be willing to send me payment first, the fact that they even said this is so insulting to my inner anti-scammer that I just don't want to deal with them at all.

Agree? Disagree? Curious how some of you would handle this.

What makes this especially weird is that they sent me a list of photos that they wanted months ago and I provided them an up-to-date W9 tax form per their request (pretty standard stuff) and they are just now getting back to me.

David, I always requested payment up front before delivering image files. If your spidey sense is triggered, probably best to decline this one. They took so long to get back to you. I don’t like working with clients like that. Best of luck and keep us updated.

While we're discussing business transactions, late this afternoon my local camera shop called to let me know they had just received a shipment that included a 35 GM.

I gave them my plastic. They gave me the lens. I took it home. :-D

Gordon Laing is comparing the 35GM with all three Sony-mount Sigma 35mm lenses...

Why do these kinds of videos always come out *after* I buy something!

I thought he did a decent job of comparing the lenses. Sigma is certainly on a roll with their ART lenses.

So I traveled east (Dulles - what a weird airport) and to my buddys cabin at the base of Ol' Rag - Shenandoah National Park to shoot and develop film in his newly built darkroom with my Wista 45D.

Stopped by my other friends shop Ace Photo on the way..... Picked up my 35GM / Mindshift 45L Backlight / Suiri Monopod with feet carbon / and bunch of other stuff. (Side note here my friend got a call saying our uncle died do you want to pick up his gear for a few thousand bucks he bought it for 4k........ He then showed me the room; 20x24ft room with shelves of stuff being cataloged - Leicas from the 30s lenses cameras accessories stuff from 1917 to a year ago..... 22 Leica bodies in all only 4 need repair....it was a photogs dream) Anyway after dropping many dollars we made it out to the cabin..... Because we were working film I barely got to use the 35GM but I took it along our hike and OH MY GAWD!!!!!

I LOVE THIS LENS!!!!!!!!! wait let me say that again I LOVE THIS LENS!!!!!!

These are just quick snaps again not focusing on using digital this day. (I was caught up in film math of the zone system :-x)

I had the same concerns, but I watched it anyway. I'm a glutton for punishment. :p

Other than the 35 GM's focus breathing, and the higher price point, the GM did just fine in the comparison.

Sure glad I'm happy with my 35's. :-)

Negative Lab Pro does a nice job on B&W images too. I'm also adding metadata to these images now as well. The camera and lens aren't in the POTN database but it does show on Flickr.
