$100 to the first person who finds a truly negative lens review lol

Have you read any of Roger Cicala's articles about the Sony Fe 70-200 f/2.8 GM? I can't find the review right now, but in one he said that if someone gave him the FE 70-200 f/2.8 GM, he would immediately sell it. He hates it that much.

I think that qualifies as "truly negative"

Lol yeah Roger was bashing a lot of the early FE lenses. Rightfully so in many aspects due to copy variation. Likely lit a fire under Sony to step their game up

I thought I may have had a bad copy of a 70-200 2.8, turns out it was the guy behind the viewfinder. I have some outstanding (for me) photos with mine the past couple years.

Gordon Laing is comparing the 35GM with all three Sony-mount Sigma 35mm lenses...

I liked Gordon's review best and I'm pleased to have gotten the GM :D

that sigma 1.2 is something though, just too big and heavy for my liking. but if 35mm was my favorite range then I would probably go for the 1.2.

My daughter likes them but I think the grandkids aren't as interested unless it's about today.

It's funny how the older one gets, the more reflective one is about the past. Even as a young adult, the past and my family history didn't mean much to me. I was too busy living in the present.

Thanks Lee and thanks for the encouragement about using LR. Who knows, maybe someday, I'll get the hang of it. :-)

I just skimmed through to look at the pictures hehe. they look great. I'm sure one day I'll need to go back to use the tutorial :P

since i started Real Estate Photography, I earned close to 100K already. It might be a good reason to try the nitch. not to brag, just to inspire.

Eddie, super shots with your a9 II with 35GM. I have to say that your gear signature is shaping up to be the nicest one around. You are an 85GM away from GM perfection. ;)

Thanks David, been contemplating the 85GM for like forever. The “slow” af puts me off but I should really just give it a go and see. If it was ok I would probably sell my 135GM and keep the 85. I absolutely love the 135 but I was chasing that 135L look and it doesn’t render that way so I’m not overly precious to it. 85 could substitute nicely. The 135 AF is amazing though so I’m torn

I never owned the 135L yet I know precisely what you mean about it and why the 135GM doesn’t satisfy that longing. From all I’ve observed the 85GM gets you closer to the sublime smoothness of the 135L than any other lens in Sony’s lineup.

Like you, the slower (and noisier) 85GM AF has always given me some pause. But, I also think your recent aquisition of the 35GM now makes adding the 85GM even more compelling in spite of the potential shortcomings.

So Photoshop has sky replace. First I have heard of it. I had replaced the dull, gray background on this photo last year when it was taken. I also removed the background sticks. I didn't care for the replacement on a number of pics so I need to keep those skills in the bag. Opinions?

I actually wish I jumped on one now, they were at £879 (grey) on eBay for months and now at £1029
