The Northern Shoveler has, arguably, the most colorful wing topside plumage of any North American duck ...... although Blue-winged Teal and Cinnamon Teal may disagree.

I barely made any adjustments at all to that image when editing it, because the combination of the Shoveler's natural colors and the soft evening sunlight seemed to do quite well without any help.

Funny you mention the light, Tom. I came back to look at the image again and thought how lovely the light is and how it’s the kind that brings out colours so beautifully. So I was about to add that to my comment but as I was writing, you posted and basically beat me to it. :-P
