Thanks

General.
For years I’ve been using the supplied strap with camera body. Although I used the Black Rapid Sport, which I loved, using a Gripped 5D Mark III and shooting in Portrait orientation, the carabiner attached to the bottom of the grip had me shooting in Portrait Orientation only to shoot with shutter in normal camera body configuration, shutter now on top of left eye and hip kicked out to my right.
About a year ago I decided to put the Op/TECH Utility Strap and Utility Sling.
The Utility Strap is neoprene based and does a great job of dispersing the weight. I never use the strap around my neck as I like to throw it over my shoulder. As I work with a pair of Gripped 5D Mark Mark III’s at events, having a 24-70 and a 70-200 f/2.8 L IS Mark II on the other, the reduction in weight is appreciated.
The Utility Sling is the same Neoprene pad, but designed to wear across the body.
The OP/Tech connectors are a woven strong material that attaches to the camera body slots the same as supplied camera strap, freeing the bottom of the camera Grip, allowing me to shoot in Portrait Orientation with my body in Landscape, which is a benefit over time.

I cringe whenever I see a word "neck" along with "strap." I stopped carrying anything around my neck and try to avoid the shoulder area, as well, for long walk, but you weren't asking about how to avoid a neck pain for life.....

The aforementioned OP/Tech is good and liked it while I had it. It seemed to absorb too much sweat during summer months, so I moved on to Black Rapid Breathe Curve. I liked it, but when Peak Design Slide Strap came out, I went for that one because of its ability to "slide" the strap to different adjustments quicker. I like to have my camera tucked close to my armpit so it doesn't swing about while walking, and this strap allows me to do that quickly. It's also pretty comfortable. Although I'm not a fan of Peak Design, I went for the Slide just for that feature. I really don't care about their thin red button connecting points; they make me nervous. But I use both the Black Rapid Breathe Curve and the Slide more as safety tethers, anyway. I have them around my neck while the camera is either in the Cotton Carrier Vest holster on my chest (for heavier gear) or the SpiderPro's holster on my belt (for lighter gear). So, although the strap is around my neck, it's only there as a safety tether with absolutely no weight to stress the neck. I only use CC Vest for long walk or hike and SpiderPro holster for short walk or studio work with lighter gear.

well, Sys seems to have first hand experience with EVERY HARNESS EVER MADE! lol!

....for what it's worth,

I've been using Optech since about 2004, on everything from little mirrorless up to 1D bodies behind 500mm prime lenses.
They've never failed me nor felt uncomfortable. There are lots of more pricey options, but I have felt Optech is right up there at the top in balance between functionality, comfort and price. A lot of the pricier options are actually less comfortable, or functional, but look a lot nicer! (op tech aren't in any way pretty)

My new favorite OpTech product (by new I mean I've only been using it for oh, 10 years or so) is the double (or triple) camera harness. It works seamlessly with my existing optech straps and connectors, is a whole new level of comfortable, (weight on shoulders vs. neck) and is priced at less than half what most are charging for a similar system. The triple is also good to use with a single camera instead of a neck strap. Just fantastic and easy to use.

Standard Optech Pro Loop Strap;

Dual and Triple harness; (I see both the prices have gone up about $15.00 since I bought them, but still great product at great price)

I've been using the Op-Tech (POTN special) for about 10 years too, great strap but not too happy about the amount of bulk it leaves when I unclip it, I have a Peak Design Slide on its way, I have noticed quite a few people using those, will see how that goes...

I dislike the bulk of the OpTech Pro and the SuperPro, and I do not carry large heavy lenses or 1Dn bodies. My favorite that has been in use for about 16 years is the OpTech Super Classic strap.

After trying a few straps, I finally settled on the OP/Tech Super Classic Uni Loop:

I had the Peak Design Slide and while the strap was very comfortable, I ended up not being at ease with those connectors...

Not interested in anything that utilizes the camera tripod mount as I have a plate mounted there all the time.

I believe Optech used to make the Canon CPS straps. I don't know if the current CPS strap is the same as the one from about 10 years ago. though.

friend of mine had this for a wedding I helped with and it even has clips to keep the cameras from banging into each other...a bit spendy, but the leather will prolly last a lifetime.

At PhotoPlus 2019, the Canon CPS Utility Strap with 3/8” connectors were given away as a choice of prizes for CPS members was supplied by OP/Tech, just like my older CPS strap from 2011. Same graphics and connectors. Just a few rows over at the OP/Tech booth, I could purchase different connectors and make this new CPS Strap into a Utility Sling Strap by buying the Sling connectors. Very nice and certainly lightens the load of a Gripped 5D Mark III with a 100-400 L IS Mark II attached. I haven’t worn my camera around my neck in years. Even with my 3/8” connectors attached in the traditional two point connectors on top of camera, I still put camera on around the shoulder, not around the neck.

I've been using Luma Labs straps for years - they originated the Luma Loop (which Black Rapid stole the idea from and then sued Luma) but they have come out with newer versions.
I use a Really Right Stuff L-plate which has a quick disconnect socket on my 1Dx II so I use the QD loop on that camera but also have a couple of other Luma Loops as well.
They are very comfortable carrying them over one shoulder like a sling - great straps for carrying something heavy like a 1Dx with a big lens on it for a whole day.

It goes back to my newspaper days when I was always in and out of cars. I want the smallest strap I can get. Just easier to put away. Back then I used the 1" Domke straps. With DSLRs, it's the Peak Design Leash.
