Well with the lockdown easing, and hugging (or what the back call tackling) allowed from Monday, full contact will start again soon for clubs outside the pro game.

My team will start training at end of June again.... cannot wait !!

Non contact training is going on at the Bulls. Should be exciting times ahead, the newly formed ladies team are in a league this season.

Bang to rights in the first shot, not nice. Third team have a friendly at the end of the month, hoping to go along.

This is what world rugby just don't get. It's easy to sit in an office and dictate policy on trans players, but this is the reality at club level. Faced with an incredible disparity in player size and strength, players will do anything to level the playing field and keep them at arms length.

Emce, really nice action shot. I know nothing about rugby but not sure what part of this would be considered "Friendly" ;-)a.
Not a sport played much in this area.

Bit of a an oxymoron.. friendly rugby.. lol. In this case it was organised between the two clubs, non league and out of season. Just to level it up a bit as they normally play in different leagues, their first team against our third with some veterans and no ringers.. though a few second team players sneaked out.

I love it, didn’t know anything about the game until a couple of years ago, an old mate and and just retired work colleague manages the first team said it was ok to do a bit of togging. I’m now retired and part of the furniture at the club. Once you work out the likely flow of play it’s a great game to photograph, I don’t bother snapping the mauls as they just look like a mass bundle to me. But scrums, line outs, huge tackles long runs etc give great scope for some decent shots. Get snapping and get some images posted here, the grittier the better!

A friendly is a match that isn't official and doesn't count in the standings or in the head-to-head win/loss record.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

A few from my first outing with my new toy, the R6. I'm a little underwhelmed with the result. Need to get used to the 'double back button focus' setup. Eye tracking with Rugby is very hit and miss....more misses than hits ;)
