Finally my very own copy of the 8-16 sitting in the boot of my car, just picked it up from Fuji and dropped in my bust 90/2 for repair. Looking forward to next weeks shoot in an old woollen mill more now

NICE!

It is very nice, and now I can cover 8-560mm with my zooms and 1.4TC. That’ll do Fuji, that’ll do.

Thought I was done with new stuff but fighting a strong usage to nab an X-S10 for video/vlogging/BTS stuff as thinking I should semi-retire my x-pro2 before the mileage gets up too much more. A friend recently remarked that it was looking well weathered and it kinda is. There is even some of the magnesium worn down beside the shutter button. Thinking of moving to the GFX fully for a lot of my work assuming that comes back, so thinking on price the X-S10 and X-T3 will cover my needs till then. But I might buckle and pony up for an X-T4 as ultimately it would make more sense alone side the GFX100s as that have the same battery.
Just need to figure out the probably three lenses I’d like. Or if I can get by with two, like the 23 and the 110 or 80.

MPB just bought my X-Pro2 for $670. Not bad.

Whoa! I looked at that 8-16, wiped the drool from my face and then bought the 8mm Roko. Should receive it tomorrow.
I'm headed back to Pittsburgh sometime this summer and wanted a fisheye for a few buildings and for the bridges.
Looking forward to your images.

That’s a great result, I’m never going to sell mine but I’m very bad at selling things. Planning on anything new?

The 8mm fish is a nice lens I used one for a couple of years and just sold it to part fund the 8-16. You’ll get loads of fun 180° images with it and the fisheye look from it is not so bad. I also have the roko 12/2 that I’ll use for video when on the ronin but I know that once I replace the SC with the new Ronin it’ll go up for sale.

I’ll hopefully post a couple from the next job once they are signed off. Images are for adverts so I’ll need wait.

If you look at the corners of this image you’ll see why this is a very good optic. No stretching of shapes and really sharp, the very reason I sold the 10-24 was because of the way it stretched the shapes in the corners and because of the control the 8-16 has it helps not push the background too far away. If you get my meaning, it’s perfect for a lot of the boring work I do and hopefully some of the more interesting stuff also

I got a second X-t3 and 16-80... also sold the 18-55 and 23f2. Simplifying things a bit. Saving for GF-X maybe next year.

Found a new Monochrome film sim. called Leica M10 Monochrome and thought I would give it a go. I'm liking it...

Drove around this evening chasing the light trying to find an interesting composition. I've photographed this structure once in the past and just happened to drive by it while this soft rainbow was on display.

I went to the Houston Aquarium for some jellyfish images and ended up with a tiger shot.

One of the cygnets shakes it off while a couple of little grebes fight about something or other... (bumped the aperture ring on the 100400 to f13 so lost the light on the second one)

Someone may have caught the birding bug... starts innocently enough, but be careful, it may grow into an obsession :-D

Hhahahahahahahahaha yes just a tiny bite, little else for me to photograph in the past 15 months so those birds have been my saviour. I'm enjoying the peace it brings, sitting about for hours waiting for that one shot.

This is such an interesting shot, for a number of reasons. The geometric distortion of the reflection pushes the scene really far away in the sculpture itself, although you can make out the three subjects in the reflection based on their clothing.

More interesting, though, is the fact that there are three people who are most likely there together, but all taking separate pictures of themselves ... instead of a group shot with all three of them together, like in the old days, when one person had a camera and handed it to a passerby to take the group shot. Sort of a commentary on modern life.
