I saw something on Twitter from BBC Wildlife about a photo contest. You should submit this one.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Thanks for your comments, Ken! Hope you didn't think I was being critical. The experts at eBird have a tough job, but do an excellent job in my estimation.

Didn't think that at all. Lots of people question those "rare" flags sometimes. It is an amazing database, but the details aren't perfect.

This is a lovely image, Mike. The ducklings are especially eye-catching. I've never really paid attention to Mallards and their offspring before, but I will now.

Your compliments are truly thoughtful and uplifting, Steve. I thank you very kindly. My photography interests have always been with waterfowl, and all other water birds. I see your beautiful posts of warblers and I'm blown away.

Nice capture, Jimmy. The green herons have surely been scarce at my spots this year.

Unusual and beautiful bird.
Nice composition with it off to the side seemingly focused on something important

Richard, thank you. It is a juvenile Crested caracara. They are always looking for the next meal.
