It's 'cause most people treat pets like toys, and not as a member of the family... once the newness gets old or inconvenient, they just dump them. There's a few things I'd like to do to people who kick cats out like yesterday's garbage!

I am with you on that Doc, Unless some life change (health) that prevents further care of the pet. Even if you can't take care of them you don't just abandon them but find a new forever home for them.
