Great closeup!

Thanks fotoi. It was on a distant branch and as I lifted the camera it flew off, but came towards me and landed on a low branch about 3 metres away, staying a while. Bit of luck there but I'll take it!

Guess who came back to the yard. The Cuckoo came and hung out around the pond and even went into the stream. I did not get pictures in the stream as I was blocked by plants but this is a perch right at the stream. This was a real treat to see it this close.

Wonderful capture, Rob! Glad that you got another chance at him.

Thanks for the nice comments Richard, I think more rainy pics to follow, after the driest coldest April ever we're now having the coldest wettest May! It's seems relentless!

Great shot, Sid! I sure wish you'd send us some of your rain to California. This is our worst drought in history, according to the newspaper. It is going to one heck of a tough summer as far as water is concerned.

Rather colourful and appealing photo.
They are such lovely birds and the pair make a very pleasing photo.

Thank you very much, Richard. I never tire of seeing and photographing these waterfowl beauties.
