Cerulean Warbler

Fabulous shot of a fabulous bird, Steve.

Thanks so much, Bill! I spent many yrs trying to find one with no luck. Finally, someone thankfully advised me to try the slopes of the not-too-far-away Appalachian Mts (a favorite habitat for them), where I found this one.

This one's a beauty Sid, and it's even banded. Great shot!

Thanks for the kind words Mike! :) There is a local ringing group that does a lot of work on the marshes where this was taken.

.
This is such a "clean" image, with no unsightly distractions in the background, such as out of focus branches right behind the bird's head, "sky holes", etc. . The background is beautiful and actually makes it a better portrait, instead of making it worse. . I love it because of that!

.

Thank you, Tom.

Wonderful shot, Rob! Very nicely composed.

Crack'in shot, Bill!

What a lovely shot, Richard! The apples really add nicely to the overall composition. And the wattlebird is so sharp and lifelike.

Really nicely captured, Bill! Both birds are in great focus.

Wonderful, sharp close-up shot, Gene!

Very nice close-up of the hen mallard, fotoi!

Great image, Jimmy! The colors are really nice in this shot.

Great shot, Eric! I love the pose of the whimbrel.

Absolutely striking shot, Steve! It really pops!

Terrific capture, Vassilis! They truly are gorgeous birds.

Thanks, Mike.
The shadows helped on the colors
