The comments about this year's migration caught my attention. The migration here, at least in my estimation, was the slowest I can remember: neither an abundant number of individuals nor species. I thought the migrants decided to go through the midsection of the country. Maybe not.

We had one weekend with a fallout, tons of birds but the number of different species wasn't that great. Otherwise, pretty slow for a Texas coastal migration season. At least on the upper coast.

:-) thanks Mike-I am still getting used to my new RF 100 - 500 lens and 1.4 Teleconverter and dialing in the r5's autofocus. Thanks for all your comments--I appreciate them greatly! All the Best, Rich

Thank you, Rich. I find that the R5 and the R6 take quite a bit of fine tuning, and getting to the point where I can quickly obtain the correct exposures for all the different scenarios that pop up. I'm still working on it, but the key is lots of repetition. I have to build the muscle memory, and that takes time.

It's been a rough season for the birds but not sure why. I like rusty wire too.
