Antlions can be some of the best subjects, it's a bit of a double-edged sword that I only see about two of them in a year on average. It's great to get some shots of them, and they almost always make for some of my personal favorites and being so rare (for me anyway) I never get tired of shooting them and always get a bit excited when I happen to see one.

A female Hibiscus harlequin (Tectocoris diophthalmus) protecting her eggs. An unusual find at this time of year, given that it's winter for us down South!
