May 14th 2021,

AR2822 is still around with a nice spot in the region, a nice penumbra with fibrils reaching into the spots cooler depths. Presented in high res photosphere and moderate resolution chromosphere (CaK & HA).

AR2824 continues to be the most active region with the most flares we've seen in quite a few years now. The amount of flares that have popped off in the past few days has been more than in years, literally, and it's not even a big region. Just very active.

Presented in high res & moderate res:

The small disturbance from yesterday has exploded into a rather impressive spot despite it's about to leave our view.

AR2826 leading AR2824 to the limb.

AR2824 is still showing off a little, as it rounds the limb out of our sight. One last look at it and the previously named AR2825 that is now just a pore with some faculae and plage area around it. Imaged in Calcium K, lower cooler chromosphere with 120mm F16 refractor (respaced the air gap between the lenses to 2.13mm to under-correct for near UV wavelengths, seems to work well).

I hear ya... my summer seeing is here, but, so are the storms. We await Hurricane season. There's already typhoons opposite the globe and we get the same storms on this side from the same belt.

New sunspot AR2827 has grown over the past few days, still not a big spot, but it has a penumbra and great mottling and plage area around it. High res from a 200mm solar scope in 0.6 arc-second seeing peak conditions. HA Chromosphere and WL Photosphere.

June 11th 2021,

I hope some of you got to see the recent partial eclpise (I couldn't, was not in the path, but also bad weather regardless). And also the recent CME erruption, it was lovely, the most energy we've had in many years on that thing. I missed it, but it's great to see it on SDO. Imaged today in CaK & HA, two AR's 2829 and 2832 and a great prominence on the limb leaving our FOV currently.

There was a nice prom so I threw on a ASI120mm-s and grabbed a quick shot
