RFA Mounts Bay on NATO exercises in Applecross Bay. In the afternoon an Osprey aircraft landed on the helipad at the stern but I was too busy to go back and photograph it :-(

HNLMS Evertsen, a De Zeven Provinciƫn-class frigate from the Royal Netherlands Navy. She's due to join HMS Queen Elizebeth on her trip to Asia (CSG 21) this weekend.

The Bayern, a Brandenburg-class German frigate. In Plymouth Sound today, sailing into Devonport Dockyard, she's been in and out a few times over the last month.

Does this count. Got this submarine coming out of Bremerton in Puget sound while we were out sailing. I have no clue what type of submarine it is.

It looks like a Seawolf class submarine. Nuclear powered hunter killer.

Canon R6 II, RF 800mm.

Not in the shot but it did have a dual vessel coast guard escort about a click ahead and behind him. That does sound like a Bremerton or Bangor submarine class.

Hi Jeffrey,
The definition of an expert is questionable - My definition of an expert is someone who knows more about a subject than I do - which is just about everyone on the planet these days.:-(

Sri Lanka Navy 71st Anniversary
At anchor off Galle Face, Colombo late last night and at the first ray of dawn this morning.
P626 (SLNS Gajabahu, ex USCGC Sherman) and P702 (SLNS Suranimala, ex Israeli Navy Sa'ar 4-Class)

The first image belies that it was a very tough target. Almost pitch black even with eyes adjusted to the darkness; in reality, it was much darker than shown here. Now add two independently moving targets so no chance of a truly low shutter speed to keep ISO down. For the same reason, no chance of a five image High Dynamic Range composite to cover the depth from pitch darkness to the brightness of a naked bulb. All things considered, I am happy.

DXO PureRaw from the Canon CR3 file, +2 stops and 16:9 crop.
