@Patrick, you are right, the zigzag road is part of the upper yosemite fall trail ( see https://www.alltrails.com …pper-yosemite-falls-trail (external link)). It is a very popular trail in the park. I went up there before, and the view at the top is breathtaking. The hiking is strenuous and sometimes dangerous if you are not careful. So far two hikers already lost their lives on this trail in 2021

3300 vertical feet is a pretty healthy hike. Judging by the number of comments at Alltrails, it's a pretty popular hike.

Owharoa Falls in New Zealand
I have shot this waterfall 5 or 6 times but was never happy with the results as there was never much water flowing.
We went again last weekend after a week of rain ....

a small fall on Olivia Creek, Middlesex, Tasmania
A truly magnificent place with a rich and diverse forest canopy

Now that the bubble is open I have been thinking about travel. I don't cope well with long flights, can't sleep etc, but Tasmania and Adelaide seem like great places to visit. I don't know why Adelaide - just what I've read, and not so city city as some other places??

Canon M5: A variety of Canon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, prime and zoom lenses, Samyang fisheye, 2 lovely Minolta MD, just for fun a Helios 44-2 58m - and adapters.

Rose whilst Tassie is gorgeous place to be I did like Adelaide, more so its surrounding environs and then there's the back blocks.
Did you follow Melanie Langs posts on 4/3rds forum of her outback exploits?

Either places you won't be disappointed.

Some don't like the harsh, dry of the inland Australia though.
Not sure if you mean only Adelaide as a city and not the rural parts?

When I went to WA I hated the desert! I did find it interesting, but have to say I am very much into greener places, maybe why Tasmania attracts me, like NZ. I also love Wales, way back in 1974!

Yes- it is Melanie's posts and also a Helen on another site .... it started as a meeting place for me and two of mys sisters. One sister Collie WA, and two of us NZ. When we first looked at it a couple of years ago we couldn't fly direct from NZ, but now we can tp Adelaide. Haven't checked Tassie
