Our best friends are transplants from Maine. They still have a family cabin there.

With us in a severe drought and everything dried out and yellow, your images of blue waters and green landscapes are very appealing.

But then I recall all the "Maine winter war stories" our friends have shared. -?

After "Orange Day" in California last September, I look forward to dealing with snow. Much easier on my lungs. I will miss many things about Northern California, but the ongoing cycle of drought and wildfires is not one of them.

On a happier note, Pemaquid Beach:

Just returned from a trip along the Gulf coast.
Don't do bierd photography in June in this area. That's known eh, but our trip
in Jan/Feb was postponed by all the others things going on.

Still I managed a few and we got a much needed break from remodeling.

Lee, I just attach the PD plate to the bottom of my L bracket. So landscape orientation I lock onto the PD plate and portrait orientation I lock onto the L bracket. The PD plate is pretty slim so doesn’t add much depth

Okay. That doesn't look too fiddly or bulky. And I presume the PD plate is standard Arca Swiss size?

Time's when hiking/walking when I wish the camera wasn't in the backpack.....

Yeah it’s an odd shape but it’s arca Swiss compatible. It works in both orientations too so lens pointing to the ground or lens pointing to the side when clipped in (I always just point the lens down). Just make sure your L bracket has a threaded hole to attach it to

Exact same reason I got the PD clip system. Not much as long hikes but walking around a nature reserve with the strap around neck/shoulder real pita. However I need to remove the lens foot from the 200-600 as its got the arca Swiss plate attached for gimbal use. I’m thinking of getting the wimberly replacement foot. I’d still have to remove the PD clip when I need to use the gimbal / tripod, can live with that.

Nice camera Paul. I've been mulling getting one of those too. For now, in keeping with the 6 x 12 format, I just bought this 3D printed Kracken camera with the same lens like the ones I have on my Kodak Monitor and Vigilant. I think this will solve the issues I have with my Kodaks and still give me the same field of view I'm looking for. I could have gotten a 6 x 17 but think that's a bit much for the kind of shooting I'd be using the film camera for.

The camera should arrive this Thursday. I'm anxious to give it a spin.. Be sure to post images from your new film camera as well. I subscribe to the "Post Your Film Shots" thread too.

Just nipped Texas. Entered from Holly Beach area in Louisiana, then skirted north along the border and back into Lousiana.
Not enough time to do Texas right.
I think next time we'll head straight to Louisiana marathon style then deeper into Texas but definitely a different time of year.
If it hadn't been for a couple stops in Louisiana I would have got nothing....but rest and no table saw, chop saw, belt sander, etc. :)
