Our best friends are transplants from Maine. They still have a family cabin there.
With us in a severe drought and everything dried out and yellow, your images of blue waters and green landscapes are very appealing.
But then I recall all the "Maine winter war stories" our friends have shared.
After "Orange Day" in California last September, I look forward to dealing with snow. Much easier on my lungs. I will miss many things about Northern California, but the ongoing cycle of drought and wildfires is not one of them.
