Kookaburra
It had been sitting on the power lines above watching the ground, then it dived down into the grass, stayed for a while and flew to this post with only mud left on its beak. Don't know what it had just eaten.

Masterful capture, Richard! The blurred background, the barbed wire fence with the old wood posts...You got it all in this shot:!::-)

This shot really pops, Rob! Wonderful work.

Beautiful, Rob...you sure nailed it!

Another beauty, fotoi. I can pick out your images every time, long before I see your name, You have a unique style of creating incredible life-like images that are so sharp, and present themselves in a three dimensional manner. I think most people here would agree with me on that.

Very nice two shot series of this bittern's successful fishing trip, Paul! I really like that intense stare of this bird in the first image.

"Hey, where is everybody?" First-rate shot, Rob!

Thank you kindly, Paul. Always appreciate your thoughtful comments.

Nice ruffled look Mike. Is that the same pond that you get artistic shots from before?

Thank you very much, Neal. It's a different spot on the same pond. The main body of water is mostly dried up due to our severe drought this year.

Beautiful color in this one Mike.

Thank you very much, fotoi! I appreciate the nice comment.

Very nicely captured, Mike! It looks as if Monet (a fav) painted the background for you.

Thanks so much for your very thoughtful comments, Steve. This pond has some very colorful algae blooms that cry out to be photographed. And who knows, perhaps Monet did have a hand in all this.:-)
