First time I've seen one give up on a catch. Shortly after, it found another one that looked less threatening and went with that one. Jul 13, 2021 00:30 | #4444 Had some fun experimenting with the new RF 100mm Macro lens... it has a really pleasing bokeh, a good IS, very! fast AF, and of course it is very sharp and versatile. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2maZbMt![]() Mauereidechse ![]() ![]()

Archibald You must be quackers! ![]() More info | Jul 13, 2021 00:51 | #4445 robamy wrote in post #19258808 ![]() As Jay mentioned which I noticed also we now get a distance scale in the EVF when in manual focus which is easier viewing vs the distance scale window which is no longer on the RF 400mm or the RF Macro Do you know if the distance info is written to the EXIF? I think other lenses might list it in other units, which would make it a little confusing but not unusable info if it's accurate. Flickr stream: https://flic.kr/ps/se6hB

Jul 13, 2021 14:31 | #4453 Spent yesterday morning chasing some butterflies with the RF 100mm Macro lens. This time of year in Phoenix with the weather always so hot, the butterflies are rarely in a very restful state so it makes using a macro lens a bit of a challenge. This time of year the RF 100-500 + 1.4x is probably still a better choice (and I switched between the two combinations a couple times). When the weather cools down a bit, then the macro lens is the go-to choice for morning shots of these as you can usually get extremely close without much of an issue.
