I went and got it and mounted on the sony and really liked the images. the guy I bought it from asked me if I wanted to check out his leica and he brought out his m10r and sl2 for me to hold and get a feel of it. i loved the built of the m10r. its not great for ergonomics, it is what it is. the feel of it was something and something I want to hold onto more. he had a used m10p that he was selling but I didnt want to spend that much and was not sure which model I would want. after getting more familiar with leica and checking the market. I just went ahead and got a new one despite the high cost because i'm just too picky and want things new. all the ones ive seen had some marks and scuffs. i got a zeiss 35 2.8 to try as well and it was good, but I felt i could use a wider lens. there was another leica that caught my eyes, something I saw when I visited the leica store. a limited edition daniel craig version of a leica q2. the q2 is a camera with 28mm 1.7 summulix fix lens. what attracted me was the black and gold. i kept thinking about it and ended up just getting it instead of regretting it later. posted a picture here. i got a lims half case on it to help the ergonomics and give it some protection. the lims half case also has an arca swiss dovetail to be able to mount on a tripod. the q2 also offers auto mode so thats a nice thing as well as an evf. both q2 and m10 have focus peaking. POST 19244795 i think having a 28 and 50 is all I need. oh I returned the zeiss 35 to help cope the cost and I dont think I need something between the two hehe. so Omar, having b&h near you, Id recommend to go to the store and try it out. the different versions of m10's have different shutter. m10-p and m10-r is quieter than the original. the m 240 has a nasty shutter. q2 is quite nice. one thing about the q2, it doesnt feel as nice as the m10, it feels like plastic after holding the m10. but its not plastic, its aluminum alloy. the half case actually makes it feel nicer. also, leicas arent that small and light, so thats something to keep in mind if you are looking to keep the size and weight down. the fuji x100v is a really nice camera and something to think about for that matter.

Funny enough that you mention the Sony 50 1.2 I just put up a WTB of it on Fred Miranda. I’m on the hunt for one myself. Unless your willing to let your copy go If the rumors are true about the Sony A74 going after the Canon cameras I’m going to sell my A7R4 and get the A74 (it’s rumored to have the same MP as my original A7R which is more than enough). Just finished investing into a Synology 720+ with two 8 TB drives running Raid 1 and backing up to BackBlaze. Even with that I’m looking to cut the MP down of my camera. the 50gm is awesome! it being too sharp is kind of a con for me lol when taking pictures of people, it shows all the details that you don't want to show up. acme and such. but itll be great on like say an Indian wedding with all the lovely details. focus is fast, rings are smooth, bokeh is superb.

I'm with you on lower pixel. I'm not too keen on higher mp, and thats someone who used to adore the higher mp when the d800e came out. Always felt I didnt need anymore and I've even recently got a lower mp camera. a 12mp and 24mp and I dont mind the 12mp at all. it's good for what I do with my pictures. sharing at 1080p and 1024 haha have you been taking more pictures and videos? Lucky enough I was able to secure one over on Fred Miranda. Had a seller respond on a WTB post I made. Should have it in hand by the end of the week! -Omar- Flickr

Should have it in hand by the end of the week! I hear you on it showing all the details. That’s why I loved the A7S with 12 MP. Produces some very beautiful files. I’m tempted to add it as a second body to compliment the A7R or even the A74 when it releases. Goes for cheap relatively speaking. Yup taking more pictures has increased since my wife and I welcomed our first child a baby boy at the start of August this is whats leading to all the gear upgrading. Lolearly grats!! curious why the seller got rid of it. such a good lens to have to part with. I've been thinking about the a7c to replace the a7r. smaller body with the newer tech. good to carry around. then again its not well balanced with the 50gm :P

I've been thinking about the a7c to replace the a7r. smaller body with the newer tech. good to carry around. then again its not well balanced with the 50gm :P the a74 should be awesome. i really like the a7s3's shutter and sound. im used to the old menu so i'm not too excited about the new menu. the bigger body does help with the heavier lens, but that defeats the purpose of me going mirrorless in the first place. despite the a7s3 being awesome, I like to take the smaller set up with me more because of the size and weight. its heavier than the original a7 and early lens but i dont have those lens for the time being. my brother also just had a baby girl in april so I lent him the lens for his needs. take lots of pictures and videos!! ![]() Makes total sense. See I’m on the other side of this. I love the new build of the A7 cameras first introduce with the A7R4. The larger hand grip footprint makes holding, a lens like the monster Sigma 35 f/1.2 that I have, a lot easier to manage. I was thinking of picking up an A1 but the fact that it has the old ergonomic body keeps me away. Having used the new designs I’m spoiled. I will say I think it’s the max size of mirrorless. Anything larger like you said negara the purpose. Currently I can fit the A7R4 and the Sigma 35 f/1.2 in the small peak design everyday sling. Makes it a low profile quick grab and go solution. -Omar- Flickr

I do agree, the new build is more comfortable. I didn't care much about it and thought the a7r3 was good enough and the a7s3 being a little bigger and heavier. but with the heavier glass, the bigger body helps and gives me a better hold.

The a1 isn't on the new side? The a1 released after the a7r4 though. I thought the a1 and a7s3 shares the new body (minus the extra top dial), new menu, and color. I really like the canon R5, it fits really nice like their dslr. very comfortable but also bigger. Omar, when you go to b&h next time, go hold a leica SL2/s. It's big and heavy, but it's so dam nice lol not too good on the ergonomics but it still feels good. ![]() Got my cameras mixed up! I meant looking at a Sony A9. It has the old form factor. I like everything else about it I can’t go back to the tiny grip. -Omar- Flickr

I like everything else about it I can’t go back to the tiny grip. My buddy has an R5 and it feels enormous next to the A7RIV lol I contemplated going back to canon as I only left because Sony made what I wanted. A small FF camera but I’ve always been a canon fan. The color profile has always been way better than Sony’s. However, at this point I don’t see myself switching. I’m enjoying a lot what’s happening on Sony. Between the bodies and all the lens manufacturers releasing intriguing EF mount lenses I could go to Canon. They just don’t have that level of support since Canon won’t allow it (they want all the profits of people buying native lenses which I get). I’ll have to check out that Zeiss when I get a chance to go downtown. I’ve been remote working since the pandemic began last year March so my trips down town are very few and far in between. oh ok, I got confused for a moment. the a1 pretty much destroyed their a9 line up lol. the new color is pretty good that I dont need to change the wb in post for the most part. it's something else to look forward to for the a74.
