Yes my EOS 200/2.8 is fine on the A1. Need to experiment on the A7C.
I do need a 300/2.8 and have been looking at used 300mm IS ii's at FM.
Remember Sony patented a 300 and 500 diffractive like the Nikkor PF's. I'd jump
in for those. But with the world spinning probably doubtful.
We're getting close on the whole house remodel so I'll have some play monies soon enough.
I did get Poof a Crosstrek in lieu of me getting a side-by-side but she needed it more. That would
have brought in several things I can't life (600/F4) haha :)

Yeah the 200/2.8 is such a gem. Glad I kept it all these years.

It's good that I can now use the EF 200 2.8L, but I have the GM135 which is so ridiculously sharp and also very fast focusing, I doubt I'll use the 200 much.
I too would love a Sony version of the 500PF. Maybe someone will finally work out how to make an adapter that works well and we can just get a Nikon 500PF. Or Sigma or Tamron make a DO/PF.

Has anyone heard from Gene lately? Just realized I hadn't seen a post or comment from him in quite a while...

Hey guys! I hope you are all doing well. I haven't been active for 16 months because I've been crazy busy making face masks and other things. Now that the face mask business has slowed down, I have started making hand bags and am back painting live at weddings.
I have been lurking here of course but not much.
So here are some things I've made; I know you may not be interested because they are mostly things for women but that's OK.
So, my live painting business cratered during the pandemic and I had to reinvent myself somehow. Since I've sewed ever since I was s kid, I thought sewing was another way to supplement my SS.
But the live event painting business is now almost back to normal, so I will be shooting again!
Good to see you all!

Welcome back Renata :-)
Attractive design.
I like the contrasting stitching and the colour swatch fabric is unique.
Did you make the tassel? Looks good on that bag.
Very nice.

Thank you, Richard!
Yes, the fabric is nice and it matches my watercolor classes that I started teaching again after a 16 months long hiatus!
Yes, I made the tassel. I even had to get an industrial sewing machine (now have 6 machines in total :p ) but it's fun and I've become a seamstress, an alteration lady and whatever else people request me to sew :) Here is another shot of the external pocket. Quite complex stuff! The other shot is of a wedding venue West of Austin, TX in a beautiful setting!
Hope you are doing well!

We're doing well here thanks.
Living on a small island has its advantages :-)
I like that pocket design. Function and design mingling together very nicely.
Definitely some thoughtful craftmanship (not sure craftwomanship sounds right? :-)) in the whole bag

Hahaha to craftswomanship:-P
I'm glad you are doing well. Yes living on an island helps.
I have been fully vaccinated since March but I'm still wearing a face mask in public.

I'm so glad to be back, sort of :)

Thank you, Lee!
Well, each machine serves a different purpose. However one is an old cheap junky type and will have to go. Nothing unusual when people sew serious stuff.
How many cameras some of you have? :p

Ever sort of have regrets over how things plan out.....?

I had the kids this weekend. My daughter was working quite a bit (she's jacked in her chip shop job & gone part time to Maccy D's whilst at college!) clear skies, reasonable moon, so me & my boy went out for night skies. Moon was about 50%, setting around 0:30 hours with astro twilight ending around 2:30. My boy had a party Saturday evening so I picked him up from there & we went straight out to a local coastal area with some light pollution but thought it worth a try.... to be precise...... 25.3 miles. Got there & there was a guy who'd shot sunset & was shooting the moonset (as we arrived), & timelapses & the night sky set up with a tent, windbreak, cooked some grub & was just chilling (& smoking a weed mixture!) staying through until sunrise......

Man, were we JEALOUS!! Not of the weed, but everything else! Still, we tried somewhere new, had a good time, met someone new, got some good images considering and... And ..... Next time we will be camping out overnight there!!!
