Very cool looking shot, Rob!

Richard, this is definitely one of your very best! What a charming shot! You gotta put this one on the wall.

This is a beautiful shot, Pippan! Great timing to capture both of these ibis's crossing paths.

What a killer shot, Bill! Such a gorgeous bird!

Beautiful shot, fotoi! And very nice color!

Superb sharpness and detail in this close-up mocker shot, Tom!

Nice one, Ken! The low camera angle really enhances the overall shot.

Thank you, Mike.

Of course I picked today to not take a real camera on my morning walk. Been waiting for months to catch a GBH on this log just 20’ or so off the path.

Would have been awesome pics of both standing for a pose and then airborne shots as he took off a few moments later.

Just my luck, phone pic will have to do.

Beautiful shot. I think this is a very young (hatched this spring) female oriole based on the thin pointy bill. Tanager bills are a bit thicker and stubbier. The flowers provide a lovely setting, but also another clue since orioles are nectar feeders. Probably a Hooded or Bullock's, but I'm not sure.

Many thanks folks for your very kind and generous comments.
I'm glad others find pleasure in such little beauties :-)

Mike and Rob I'm going to put together a series of my birds and get them into a book for my self. Also I've picked out some favourites and will get them printed and mounted in some Tasmanian Native timber frames I've machined.
That's a project in making.

I for one, am happy to hear what you're going to do, Richard!

Neal, nice low camera angle on this shot. It looks like you might be swimming along side them. :p The duck on the right appears to be a juvenile drake mallard that is just starting to get it's green colored head. The duck on the left appears to be a domestic duck crossed with a mallard. They are commonly known as "park duck." They generally get heavy and unable to fly.

Thank you very much, Mike.
I was lying down flat at the edge and the water level just a few inches lower. The lake itself is only about a foot deep at most. Its got a water proof like tarp as the floor. I'm guessing these ducks might be fed by the grounds staff, as I can't see how they find food otherwise. Didn't see anyone around yesterday. I will try to find out on my next visit.
