Meet Charlie, a Sumatran Orangutan who has been with Singapore Zoo for over a decade. He is huge and gentle but rather shy. He has a companion in his large enclosure but he seems lonely. Unfortunate his natural habitat - the Jungles of Borneo and Sumatra has been decimated and their numbers now close to becoming extinct.

It is tragic that humans are not able to be true stewards of the planet to balance out the needs of every species in the environment for all the living things.

Every living being while exist within an eco system of life and death, all still as species, has a right to be here.

(Image taken with Sony A7R3 with Tamron 70-180mm f2.8)

A sleeping Chameleon with stunning colours and a Meerkat on watch at sunset.

Both taken with Sony A7R3 with Tamron 70-180mm f2.8 wide open.

Nice. She's always sleeping when I see her there.

Thanks! We've caught her walking around the last few times, but we usually get to the cheetahs close to closing time, which I think is close to feeding time.

First this is a great portrait of a beautiful animal but to me she looks very depressed and captive. Hope I don't make too many folks mad.

If you see the Panasonic 100-400mm lens in exif it is really the Olympus 100-400 that is not in the database.

Douc Langurs of Vietnam. Seriously endangered species. The future is quite bleak for this species not found anywhere else in the world. It is extremely shy and skittish and hides even in captivity.
