It is pretty common for mildew (a fungus) to grow on Sunflower leaves but when it does nature sends in her cleaning crew, the 22 Spot Ladybug. They have been grazing like cows in my yard for about a week now.

Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F14, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (set to about 2.5x) + a diffused MT-26EX RT (E-TTL metering with -2/3 FEC). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Sharpen AI and Clarity in that order.

Just a fly in the garden. Been a real lack of anything else this year but my plans of amazing plants are being scuppered by the slugs. Hmm perhaps I should photograph the slugs

Odd how quickly things changed. This reserve area had butterflies everywhere & went back 2 days later & very few.

This afternoon on my compost bin.

Two globular springtail head-dancing - or whatever it is they are really doing... courting of course! Deutosminthurinus pallipes, maybe.

Teniuphantes species of spider.

A vivid coloured larva in the same place (with an Orchesella cincta passing by to give some size comparison).

A green thing is an early instar nymph of Cicadellidae, ca. Empoasca etc.

This girl just came out of a molt 2 days ago. She was not this colorful when I photographed her before the molt. First shot is 3x without crop.

What are you using to get 3x magnification?
