The Prothonotary is my favourite. They are rare, here in Canada…something like an estimated 20 mating pairs.We are on the northern end of their breeding range. I’m fortunate to live near one of the provincial parks that has a nesting area.

Hiking through Redden State Forest and came across this White-eyed Vireo hopping through the bushes and making a lot of noise. He seemed to be less scared of me and more cautiously curious as to what I was doing while photographing him.
