Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts ![]() More info Post edited 11 months ago by Lame-Duck. | Aug 02, 2021 01:02 | #32016 Itsed65 wrote in post #19266918 ![]() Well this is the first time I have photographed a puffin, so I have no idea if it is rare ![]() What I can say is that the island, Eastern Egg Rock, is a 7-acre island located 6 miles east of New Harbor Maine. The treeless island is designated the Allan D. Cruickshank Wildlife Sanctuary in honor of this noted Maine ornithologist and photographer. The island is fringed by a berm of massive granite boulders that provide nesting habitat for puffins and guillemots. It is the first restored puffin colony in the world, so I imagine there are a lot of them banded. It is part Audubon Project Puffin. The cruise I was on included a great presentation by an Audubon expert on the way out to the island. Ed, thank you very much for your very interesting reply. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to answer my question so thoroughly. LD, or Mike
