So an update from me since it’s been a while. Super busy at work. Busy with family this summer. No recent hikes or photo trips.

I sold one large acrylic print to a client in Luxembourg. Hope to sell two more from the same client once they receive the first one.

I minted and listed my first NFT on Foundation. I have mixed feelings about NFTs but wanted to go through the process for myself.

I entered an image into the Slow Photography Movement for Autumn. Hopefully it makes the cut.

https://www.slowphotographymovement.com/submit-now (external link)

I have almost finalized my 12 images to enter in the Natural Landscape awards.

https://naturallandscapeawards.com/ (external link)

I will be submitting some images to Colorado Life magazine and hopefully be added as a contributor.

I’ve been active on Twitter instead of Instagram and have been enjoying the interactions with other photographers there.

Thank you.

Mississippi kite, a mundane, dengy colored raptor. They are fun to watch.

Never the Ruby-throat, always the White-throat :(
And such a vicious bierd. One comes in to eat and another flies in to bully her off.

Saw my first 'local' hawk yesterday. Local as in a couple blocks from the house. That means they
are getting closer and closer. We erected the hawk tower last weekend. I had a close friend weld it up
for me. Getting it up required a swim and the top 1-2 feet of the water is kinda warm, but 5 feet down
and it is cold. So maybe someday hawk images from the 'retirement home'. We don't have Red-tailed here
but the 'forest hawk'/Broad-winged.

I have been out of it for a while since my Buddy died.

He bequeathed me all his gear and his copyright but of course the wife is having thoughts about that so I am giving her time to process it was a month yesterday.

I have picked up the Fuji GSW690 6x9 film camera and shot some worksite shots and just had no fun... I used my 14mm 2x now on construction shots which are fine but not testing the lens out.

So...... Today I started putting a solo trip together and in the next 2 weeks I am just going to drive off.

Day one Phoenix to Canyon De Chelly - Night shot of Widows Rock. Next day tour of the canyon base with a guide. Then head to Valley of the Gods which is just above Monument Valley. Then to a place actually called Long Dong Sliver which is a cool rock formation near Hanksville. From there 2-3 days in Capital Reef NP. On down to Page AZ and Grand Staircase NM then back home. Most of that will be out of cell phone range and not near any people. Just me and the Jeep and the 6x9, 4x5 for film and sony kit for digital, and a guitar out of tune and me just learnin to play.

Sounds like an awesome trip and a good way to keep Frank in your mind, and experience a place with some.of his gear. Sounds like a great way to get away and unwind.

A couple months ago, I picked up an a6400 with the 16-50mm kit lens. I wanted a small, light camera for traveling and motorcycling. The total price was just under $1000. I'm amazed by the image quality that this tiny camera produces! Here are a couple recent shots...

Sounds amazing Travis.

I can't wait...taking a friend of mine and just getting away, off grid for a while will be awesome.

Late model Triumph twin on an AZ back road.

Two more Sony a6400 shots to demonstrate the outstanding image quality of this little camera. I can easily read the serial number in the second image (when viewing the RAW image full screen in Lightroom). This time I was using a Sony FE 24-105mm lens.
