I've watched green herons catch bugs to toss repeatedly onto water as bait for fishes, this may be what he is doing. Great images.

My contribution. This little guy was very obliging, I got a whole battery's worth of images from him!

I found a hidden place where the Green Herons love to be...well hidden and private. They seem to be a favorite of many of us, for good reason : )

I went to a wildlife refuge on a salt marsh this morning. Pretty much guaranteed birds most of the time. Not today. Just this guy. He was in his spot by the road. Like a campground host. In case we had any questions.

Beautiful close-up of the campground host! He seems quite friendly.

Thanks. Hank is one of my favorite objects to photograph. Everything just seemed to be in the right place when I took that photo.
