All the animals there are in "captivity", but the spaces are fairly large. The wolves (and there are bears in the park as well, they were quite shy that day) are most certainly not roaming freely across the park, for obvious reasons. Apricane flickr

I could be wrong, but I think that word, and "craftmanship" are not gender specific words. Website

I live near a rodeo arena and love heading over there to shoot the action. The woman in these images is the "Header" in a Team Roping duo. She ropes the steer's horns and turns it so her partner, the "Heeler", can rope both back legs. This duo waits on either side of a chute that releases a steer. After the chute is opened, and the steer bolts for the exit, the duo takes off after it. For this event, I set my focus area to Tracking: Flexible Spot S and focus on one or the other roper's head (while they're waiting for the steer to be released). I use back button focusing so I can take several bursts of shots without having to refocus. The two shots below were taken 1/5 of a second apart...that should give you an idea of how fast everything moves in this event. I love how Sony's tracking feature allows me to maintain focus in situations like this. With AF Tracking Sensitivity set to "1", the Header's head stayed in perfect focus despite a horse and a rope moving in front of her. yeah, with the right lenses, and good target acquisition the tracking on the a9 is crazy good. Cool shots by the way, I really like that second one shooting through the rope loops. Website

I have spent plenty of time doing architectural drafting, I learned to draft by hand, and now do it all in AutoCAD. Website

Mark Smith recommends against it, and my own experiments confirm his findings. Besides, if you're trying to capture more than one bird in the air, you usually want the closest one to the camera to be in focus. Mike

None of the national rodeos will let me shoot...they always have photographers under contract. There's a lot of local and regional action in AZ, especially in the winter, though. Demolition Derby would be a blast, and so would Roller Derby! Mike
