Hey folks...

Let's take a week off....
.

.
Ha! . It figures.

I got out to shoot the past three days in a row, after not being able to shoot at all for the past 6 weeks. . I came back today excited about the images I've been getting, and thought I'd check out the current Worldwide Photo Week to see if my new shots would somehow fit into the theme ..... and I couldn't find a WWPW for this week. . So I did a bit of digging and found this "week off" post. Oh well.

Often, when I am shooting I have no internet access, or no computer with me to download and process the images. . And often when I am at home with my computer and internet connection, I am not out shooting. . That's why I only get to participate in these WWPW threads a few times each year. . But I must admit that I think about this series of threads all of the time, and always wish that I could participate more.

I will be road-tripping across the country during the first two weeks of September, and shooting like crazy! . But of course I won't be able to properly share any of the images in the WWPW threads because I will not have my computer available, and will not have a proper internet connection. . So maybe, hopefully, late September or early October will present an opportunity to share in the WWPW thread(s).

But, Joayne, I do appreciate all of the time you put into keeping up with this on a weekly basis, and am glad that you are getting a little break!

I agree with Tim and if you don't share something Tom at least tell us what you were after, some wildlife maybe? :-) I haven't been able to shoot any because of work but starting to get caught up some now that school has started, looking forward to some spare time and cool temps, knock the dust off of my gear and enjoy some fun photography.

I agree with Tim ..... share something Tom .....

.
Okay. . Thanks for inviting me to share.

I've been going up to a talus slope on Washington Pass, just an hour and a half from home. . Got up there 4 consecutive days this week; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and yesterday.

Just a cell phone pic I took on Thursday, to show what the area looks like. . Talus rockslides are the habitat that American Pika and Hoary Marmots live in, and I go up to this place specifically to photograph those two species.

It's a great time of year to spend time afield with the camera, especially if you are mostly interested in wildlife and nature. . The deer are going to be shedding their velvet within the next fortnight, and then things just snowball for the next few months!

Wonderful shots Tom of animals I know nothing about, heard of them is all, thanks for sharing your interesting photo hunt and habitat. And you're right about the time of year, my favorite time is right around the corner. Plan to look for some Elk South of me the end of Sept then by end of Oct I'll be after the White Tailed deer every day, will take the camera more this year.

Paul, that's a beautiful and peaceful looking trail photo, like seeing your companion following along as well.
