Canon EOS 80D, reviewed by Grey Kiwi

I bought the Canon 80D to replace my much loved Canon 600D.
My previous 'best' camera had been an Olympus Quickmatic that I bought while in Vietnam back in 1968!
Followed up by a cheap wee Sony P73...all 4.1 megapixels of it.
I wanted 'something' that would make better use of my lenses than the 600D (although to be fair the 600D produced good photos).
At the time Canon was talking about the 90D but that seemed to take forever to be released...so...enter the 80D.
Once I set up the camera through the Menu system as to how I wanted it to operate all was sweet.
It's a nice size and weight. Operates smoothly, and does take great photos.
Certainly more than 'enough' camera for most folks who are migrating from P&S cameras.
The touch screen focus isn't used much by me, but will be once I get out with the Cullmann tripod more.

Lenses used have been of reasonable quality. Tokina 11-16 UWA, Canon 100 macro, Canon 60 macro, Canon 17-40 L, Canon 18-135 STM, Canon 40 'pancake'.
Have ordered the Canon 70-300 Nano IS II recently (yet to arrive).
All lenses have performed well on the 80D.
I'm not a pixel peeper...but I do like a nice looking, sharp image.
Main use is landscapes, and I take photos to use as reference for painting (watercolour only now, but was into acrylics, and oils for a while).
I tried a mirrorless Sony A6000 for a while but soon sold that and kept the 80D...says it all really.
Just bunged in a couple of old photos (18-135 lens). An old wharf post, and a plant that needed it's photo taken (I mess with these in Photoshop and tear the image apart!).
Nothing fancy. I moved recently and have built a new computer.
Yet to 'find' all my saved photos that I put on a couple of external HDD's.
