Three? Wow!

Fantastic shot. Great framing and timing.

Thanks very much! I think there’s actually four within the picture as there is an engine that’s partially hidden attached to the carriages on the right! You can just about make out the smoke and the elbow of the driver! Each day this weekend they are running six steam locomotives a day. It’s quite an impressive achievement considering the age of some of them!

And not just any old steam train. 4014, no less. The high and mighty supreme ruler of all steam trains. One bows down in praise and awe when it rumbles by. Many have come before, and some may come after -- but there is but one king of the rails. :-P

100 feet from my house in 2019. They thought I had some "temporary emergency" when I called in to work stating I would be about an hour late that day. Dang well worth it.

Dang it!! 100 feet from your house?? Hell yes it was worth being 1 hour late to work!!!

Sure was. And they never knew why. Considering the events that unfolded that day, I don't feel a bit guilty either. That shot I've posted in this thread before, a little more than two years ago and I don't know how many pages back. "Big Boy" was parked for a couple days 12 miles west of us for display (very crowded), and maintenance. Luckily, I had two days off following the drive-by, and I was able to visit it and all the rail fans when on display. One could even touch it! The next morning after it left the yards I spent two hours on top of a bridge to the west to catch it as it went underneath. There's video and photos of that too in the gallery.

A couple of additional shots from the Largo Central Park Railroad. One weekend a month they open this up to the public for rides.

Big Boy (#4014) on Sept. 5, 2021 between Byers and Strasburg, Colorado USA. I stayed 40 feet from the track. It stopped in Strasburg and people could touch it.
