The mkIII you can calibrate thru camera. I would imagine you can do it on the MkII as well. Look under lens correction in your menu. Max zoom on a tripod with a tape measure propped up at the closest distance to focus they have a YouTube video how to do it. It’s easy and I’ve done it in the field this way. They also make a lens calibration tool.

Sorry for the second post. Just to add to the menu here are the screenshots from the MKIII. once you adjust it for that specific lens it will stay calibrated. You will not have to do it again if you switch lenses.

Got the chance of accreditation for International cricket between Ireland and Zimbabwe. Combined the 1dx mkii with the Sigma 500mm f4 and also the 1.4x. Happy with the results in bright sunlight.

Bit more cricket yesterday. Last one day international between Ireland and Zimbabwe, so I tried a little experiment with multi-exposure shots, just to see how it worked. Have to say, it is tricky and I can see it has potential, but its an interesting feature on the mkii which probably lends itself to cricket quite well. The only thing I would recommend is using a tripod. I was using a monopod with 500mm lens and it took a lot of concentration to hold it steady for short bursts of 3-5 shots. Ideally you need to pick a focal point and focus on it rather than the actual subject and then press the shutter release. Moving the lens to track the subject just messes up the sequence as the background in each frame won't line up. Good fun trying though and I would definitely give it another go in future.

Just jumping in with the "just pulled the trigger and I'm so excited I have to tell someone!" post. Picking mine up from UPS on Saturday, then have 48 hours to get up to speed with it before rec league soccer under the lights Monday night! Very much looking forward to comparing ISO6400 to what I've been getting from my 7D2...

I really believe the major advantages our 1Dx bodies have over the mirrorless bodies is the ability to customize the AF systems and most important to me because I live in the Pacific Northwest.......weather sealing for very wet conditions....... It POURED at yesterdays wedding but it stopped for about 40 minutes and they were able to get the outside ceremony completed. My 1Dx2 was soaked after we decided to go outside and do some portraits. I was very nervous about using the 5D4 in these conditions.....and I would be even more nervous with an R5 or R6. Zero issues with the 1Dx bodies
