I don't know where to put these. I've been working a little project visiting dams along the Columbia river. There's a bunch of them. So far, I've been doing them in black and white and posting in those forums.

But I like the colors in these and they are part of the landscape around here. Some 90% of our electricity is from hydro. Clean, perpetual, always on. I'm kinda proud of that.

The light's been weird all summer. One guy I know said, the colors are wrong. Yesterday it was a mix of light smoke with a tinge of early autumn under a medium overcast. Both of these dams were built in the 1950s and have developed a patina that was particularly distinctive in this light. Right or wrong.

If ya want bald eagle shots, go to the small park on the oregon side by the dalles dam in late January... You may see 40-60 eagles.... bring a 400-800mm setup!

I will put that on my calendar. Don't get over to The Dalles a whole bunch, but I try to get to the Hood River area now and again. I believe the dam shot above was made from the park you're talking about.

Thanks.

No problems posting them here. The patterns are interesting and you captured them well.

Hovenweep is about 2 hours from Moab for those interested in it...basically it's like a mini Mesa Verde, and was surprisingly busy!
