Has anyone heard anything from Robert (MM)? He's gone missing here and on Flickr.

I downloaded a few Fuji raw files. Hmmm…they were ok.

Probably best to stick with Sony and save up for an a1. Much more versatile.

Aaron wasn't thrilled, the resolution meant a lot more focus stacking and any movement in a scene was exaggerated. Go for the a1...it works with the lenses you have...and it is pretty awesome.

That's interesting Travis. Thanks for letting me know. Yes I think the a1 is a perfect fit for my needs. My son is getting more involved in soccer and I would love to photograph him more.

you won't do sports with the Fuji...it has been said here before,, Jose maybe...the a1 is the best camera he has used...I am in full agreement with that....I can't wait to shoot some landscape next week followed by race cars.

I don't know how common it is for aspen trees to grow out of a boulder but glad I discovered this one. Nature is pretty amazing and resilient.

Went downtown this morning to snap some photos of the giant pumpkins along Main Street for the annual "Pumpkinfest". It's normally a much bigger event with a parade and regatta among other things, but this year it was just the art display. Still brought a ton of people to town.

A blue hour image from a great spot in the Colorado mountains. Caught a bit of early sunrise color in the sky and the reflection.

I am sorta interested in the 70-200 V2

I could dump the 85 1.8 / and 100-400 should be within a few hundred bucks that way.

Then I could be down to 14GM 35GM 70-200 and 200-600 plus the 1.4 and dedicated 105 sig macro..... although I dont shoot enough macro to prob keep that. Unless I sold it then I would want to macro all the time.

the new 70-200gm is looking really good!! lighter, sharper, faster. its just missing the smaller factor ehehe.
but really, I'm thinking of selling my 70-200 to upgrade to the new. I hate to lose on selling it but the new lens is promising and looks good with a 2x as well.

I was not going to upgrade my 70-200, but then I watched Patrick Murphy you tube video, about how good the AF is and now I'm thinking about it ! How ever I have been using the 135 GM a lot instead of the 70-200. Then there is the matter of trading in the current 70-200 GM and how much more to payout.

The mk1 suits me fine, I have no real complaints with it so I don't see myself updating to the new one.

Think about how well it would work with the A1, and with crop mode (still get 21mp sensor) and a x1.4 teleconverter, you would not need to take a longer lens. ;-)a

I bought my FE 70-200 f/2.8 used, so I wouldn't take that much of a financial hit to upgrade - probably not more than the cost of a 7 to 10 day rental.

I'm happy with my version 1 and the price of a new Version 2 isn't worth it for me.

These high Sony and Canon lens prices are making Leica lenses look more "affordable" all the time. :p

It would be nice to have a zoom in that range but it's a zoom that in all of my years of photography have never owned.

they are a chore because they typically weighed 1.5KG or more, the sony is only 1KG..... big difference.

I watched some of the reviews and saw a guy hold it camera and lens with one hand........ that said, bigger than I'd like, and with no events in sight, I've got time to decide between the tam 35-150 and sony 70-200

Sony A7siii/A7iii/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD

Flip side of the coin is buy the 100-400. Crop mode should get you around 612mm vs 428 mm with the 70-200 and teleconverter (if my math is correct). Retail for the 70-200 + 1.4 teleconverter is $3350 vs $2500 for the 100-400. I'm sure there's other factors but some food for thought.
