We had a couple "1st's" on our recent visit to the TX coast.

White-Tailed Kites was one of the "lifers" we encountered. Man, these guys are STUNNING!

Thanks a bunch Bill. We just couldn't get over how beautiful they are. We actually at least a dozen (in pairs), and you're right - they are flighty!

Fun story, I stopped and talked to a Ranger that parked on the side of the road and asked if he might recommend a spot to photograph them, as we'd only seen them at a distance and they'd fly off. He smiled and told us exactly where to find them. :-)
