This is marvelous Alfredo! I love the entire range of yellows is represented in the highly saturated aspen leaves to the golden ochre in the shrubs below and even into stone on the mountainside (lichens?). And you’ve processed it beautifully as well as the center frame glows dramatically out from the frame edges.

DXO rates the a1 DR at 14.5 stops and the a7R II at 13.9 stops. The a7R II was a bit of an low-point anomaly in the a7R series as it was the only one that has ever tested below 14 stops. The a7R IV has 14.8 stops.

The fact that Sony engineered a camera that hits a 14.5 stop DR at 50MP while being a top-of-the-line action camera is an absolute mindblowing feat.

I guess I don't look at the charts and tests, what I look at is the real world use for me that the images can be recovered to my liking in either the highlights or the shadows. 2/3 of a stop of DR isn't all that much really, unless I just don't understand the rating...which, is entirely possible. The fact that it can be done on such a high MP camera and done with ease, is good enough for me. The AF accuracy is much better, focusing in low light is light years better than the r2. I always had issues with the 16-35GM in low light, the a1 acquires focus much faster and more accurately.

So good...I am jealous of your Colorado fall color and access to Aspens. I think fall 2022 needs to be spent in Colorado.

Cheers Alfredo. I took about 3-4 shots here as the sun rose. This was the final one with the sunlight on the trunks.

I also quickly swapped the lens over & took a film shot of this too!!

Thank you Lee. Yeah the trees really stood out against the rock cliffs. Got lucky with timing the hike with good fall color.

Thanks Travis. I count my lucky stars to live in a beautiful (albeit expensive) state. Yes, I hope you can make it out here next year. I haven't even made it over to the "epic" areas like Crested Butte.

Thanks again David! Yes I think there is some lichen on those rocks and the rest are shrubs of some sort. Fortunately, it was partly cloudy that morning which made processing this one easier.

It's been so long since I shot with my Loxia 21. I had forgotten how well this lens renders landscapes and produces some nice sunstars. I was thinking about selling my FE 16-35 GM but would take a big hit on the sale so I will likely just keep it.

This was shot early morning as the moon was setting over these birch trees (I'm terrible with identifying trees) with some late fall color. The grass in the foreground had this nice texture and some light on it.

i'm sorry for posting something non-Sony. I just like to share what I am up to now.

I recently acquired a Micro43rd, the Olympus EM1 Mark III and this is the main reason, size. Making me wanna go out more.

on the left is my Siggy 105mm F1.4(collecting dust), on the right is my M43 Siggy 56mm F1.4(112mm equivalent).

Not as bokelicious as a full-frame but it's slightly longer so a better compression. also to me now, it's no longer about bokeh. since smaller sensor have wider DOF, I can shoot wide open on portrait and have more DOF.

Hey thanks Eddie! Mostly needing to sell something to help fund an a1. . It"s a great lens so I don’t see myself seriously selling it. Mark Galer said that we tend to be married to our lenses but we date our camera bodies. Makes sense to me.

try the pana 42.5, it has OIS and + IBIS, should get insane stability. One of a kind portrait lens with near macro abilities. The OM 75 is good too, but starts approaching FF weight. M43 is fun, hence I still have my entire kit, I have duplicated nearly the whole kit with FF though. 7.5 —> 18, 15->24G, and 42-> sigma 90. The FF FL are slightly off and not as good, but hard to deny the truly small size FF has become, it’s in striking distance.

yes for small FF. I'm waiting for the mark ii of A7C. Hoping for at least a slightly bigger and hires EVF and a joystick.

Went ahead and put in my pre-order as well... I still was flip-flopping about whether I should or shouldn't or how soon, but coming back from a shoot and seeing sensor dust on some of my photos helped me make up my mind!

Finally got out again to take some photos.

Went out for sunrise. I have to say that shooting sunrise shots is significantly harder than sunset.
