yes for small FF. I'm waiting for the mark ii of A7C. Hoping for at least a slightly bigger and hires EVF and a joystick.

i'm hoping for a better shutter sound and under $2k

front wheel dial would be great too. yeah i'm being too greedy :D

Wet and windy Fall day here today. Did some studio work and stayed dry.

Pretty excited about the a7 IV, though when shooting today felt myself as fully satisfied as I've been of the III yet lol. I don't know if other people have the same issue I have, and I hope that this is something I might see resolved is how there is always a discrepancy between the composition I get in the viewfinder/LCD screen and what the actual raw looks like...and I'm really talking about the composition. For some reason, all photos in the viewfinder look like they are perfect, and I'm so often miffed by how different the actual files look when I look at them on my computer. At some point I thought this was due to the in-body correction that the camera is applying to the preview JPGs (and which I turn off), but even then that wouldn't explain why it looks good in the EVF at the moment of composing. Have you run into this?

Is it a matter of putting it on a big screen and then not liking it? I know I have experienced that, things look good on little screens...and some things don't look good until on the big screen.

That does happen, of course, but it's really a matter of lines being straight in the EVF and on the back of the camera and then not being straight (and sometimes not even close) when I import the raw. I get that you can make mistakes and not notice them when shooting on the small screen and being surprised when you watch the bigger version, but that's not what it is.

It happens to me quite a lot less with my Fuji, composition is much more faithful between the camera and the computer.

Is it the difference between Jpeg and raw? So on camera you are looking at a processed jpeg (including distortion correction and like maybe?) where as when you import raws there is no/less correction applied.

On the flip side of that I understand Sony bake some corrections into their raw files as well!?

I have a similar but different issue, that the images look great through the evf, but dreadful on the lcd. I’m a bit gutted the IV didn’t at least get the 1.4m dot - but I’ve at least seen a couple of reviews to say the 1m dot lcd on the IV is at least a bit better on colour/contrast and clarity. Jason Vong’s YouTube review has the best info on it.

Are you using the level overlay on the EVF/LCD? I have never had images rotate from what was on camera to what is on screen.

I spent a good bit of time looking for water abstracts, I am working on a 3 image series for a wall on our house. I think this might be the 2nd one.
It looks like a bear...

I don't think it's a processed JPG vs RAW issue, as the images usually looked well lined up (i.e. straight lines) even in the EVF - before I press the shutter (before they would be processed?). The EVF and the LCD give me the same feedback (and again, I can't stress enough that I'm only referring to the straightness of the lines, no other element of IQ, which could be different). I mean, I'd expect that what I see in the EVF in the composition is what I would see in the RAW as well. Some are more similar than others, and it doesn't seem to matter whether I have in-body lens compensation turned on or off (and it wouldn't really concern distortion either). I might be able to post an example after I'm done with work.

I'm using the level overlay, but frankly find it of little reliability.

Sorry for the non Sony image but I just thought this Toyota van was the coolest. It looked like a life size Hot Wheels model.
