Apricane Shooting the breeze More info | Oct 25, 2021 19:27 | #51168 Apricane wrote in post #19298999 I don't think it's a processed JPG vs RAW issue, as the images usually looked well lined up (i.e. straight lines) even in the EVF - before I press the shutter (before they would be processed?). The EVF and the LCD give me the same feedback (and again, I can't stress enough that I'm only referring to the straightness of the lines, no other element of IQ, which could be different). I mean, I'd expect that what I see in the EVF in the composition is what I would see in the RAW as well. Some are more similar than others, and it doesn't seem to matter whether I have in-body lens compensation turned on or off (and it wouldn't really concern distortion either). I might be able to post an example after I'm done with work. I'm using the level overlay, but frankly find it of little reliability. Well, I'm embarrassed, but I have to admit I might have been wrong and there was no tomfoolery of the sort I thought was happening with my camera... but I did have ridiculous situations where I thought I had composed properly but it turned out I wasn't close. It seems to happen to me most often with lighter lenses, which kinda tells me something. Apricane flickr

And as an anecdote...I had a friend shooting BTS stuff for me earlier this year out in CA...he managed to shoot the whole second day in crop mode...he had no idea how...it was the button on the lens... Lol that's a shame for that friend. Hopefully he had enough resolution to finish the images properly! In my case, to the extent that my lenses even have buttons on them, I leave it unmapped. And this time I decided to split it up into two unique parts. There were two unique aspects to this trip to the Smokies for Fall Color. Episode 33 covers the first one. At just over 4 minutes, it won't take much of your time, let me know what you think. Excellent video Travis. I enjoy these types of introspective and quiet videos. Was that 4Runner a rental? - Alfredo -

Hopefully he had enough resolution to finish the images properly! In my case, to the extent that my lenses even have buttons on them, I leave it unmapped. Well, it does turn out that I was crazy to think that there was stuff happening with my images in between shooting and importing to RAW. It does end up that the images are indeed the same. However, what I found is that basically the issues with mishandling the camera (this is pretty much what I put it down to) happen more often with smaller lenses, at least in the bunch of photos I've reviewed. This issue almost never came up with my Samyang 85 (though it did sometime happen that I slightly miscomposed, I usually notice it during the shoot and just shoot the image again), whereas with the Sony-Zeiss 55mm I had more misses that way (and not even close misses, really terrible ones). Not sure what does this, even though I am careful when I compose. My biggest composition mistakes come from bad eyesight, and very poor peripheral vision. When I look through the EVF, I can't actually see the entire thing. I recently tried shooting looking at the LCD for portraits. I can't do it, not steady enough and even more issues with composition. So on my last shoot recently I just made sure I was checking my edges and composition more. alfredomora wrote in post #19299248 Excellent video Travis. Yes, it was a rental, I found it on Turo...loved it. It has a 4" lift, off road tires and great lighting. I am renting it again to go back in a couple weeks...probably will every time I need it until I can build my own rig. Website

I have never shot this spot before, it high water levels it can't be reached, in really low water levels it is not interesting. This past week...Goldilocks would have like the water level.
