The A7IV is calling my cc. 33mp looks like a happy medium for me. I sold my RIV when I shifted to real estate because of the huge files. I still do portrait sometimes so I think the 7IV is perfect for me.

Who else pre-ordered?

I did, controls look favorable to all the Sonys on the market. 9 custom modes…. Hog Heaven. I ordered 24 minutes after it opened, should have done sooner, but didn’t get the email on time.

I don't always shoot portraits, but when I do, I'd fall in love with them again.

I watched a Youtube today that made me question my choices: I should have gone with 32GB memory and 4TB SSD instead of 64GB/2TB. Also I know I’ll be regretting not getting the 16”. Nonetheless I’m super-excited for my Macbook Pro delivery!

Upping my RAM to 64GB has been huge for processing. I would guess that with a MBP most of your storage would be external anyway.

Apparently the M1 unified memory system is a just a very different dynamic than what we are used to with Intel/Amd systems. I’ll be fine - nothing bad about 64GB - but it’s looking like massive overkill on a M1 mac. Also, I like to do my projects on the internal SSD for max performance and only use external drives for offloading my completed projects - a bigger SSD allows more project completions before needing to archive.

Has anyone on this thread used the new Tokina 100mm macro lens worth mc-11 adapter? I shoot both systems so it's usually a challenge finding lenses that work equally well. So far sigma sports/art lenses have worked without any issue

Wonderful portrait.
Of course lessens the load when your subject matter is just outrageously beautiful.

I'm in the pre-order boat. Was gifting to Poof who was recently gifted an A7Riii (she has to trade him her a6400).
So I don't know how it will all pan out in actual use.
I like the A7c around the neck/shoulder when using the A1....kit zoom on the 7c and the 200600 on the A1. Just love
the combo....and as mentioned many times on the long walks the A7c is my friend.
But 33mpx, have to agree with many prognosticators...will be the happy medium between the little cropability of the a9/a7c and the
'always noise there but easily dealt with a7riv/A1'.
For my venues I honestly was hoping for 15fps. 10 is OK and I've got a pile of BIF with the old 7Dii back in the day and it was 10 fps..
I'm spoiled.

'Merlin' says this is a Merlin.
Too distant for even the 50mpx when cropped into.
But I shot 10-15 shots before too much movement.
Selected 6 of those and put into Zerene.
End result way better than any individual image.

I've only seen 3 Merlins in my life, and loving raptors this was a special treat. Taken in the Outer Banks 2 weeks ago during the
raptor migration.

Yah the 10FPS is really slow for 2021. that's the only thing I noticed that's not so good.

And in other news...I am 0 for 4 on recent bids for architectural work...they keep going with someone cheaper...and I don't feel like I am expensive...kinda frustrating.

I keep forgetting that I should not comment on anything Mac related...my apologies...but I learned something new. So there is that!

First time really seeing elk from a reasonable distance. Quite a fun morning watching them at RMNP.

Love the color in the reflection.

Dang, sorry to hear about the bids. Stay firm on your pricing.
