Thanks Eddie. Your recommendation couldn't have been better. I've just set up my MacBook Pro with the BenQ Monitor and WOW does this display look absolutely phenomenal. Colors appear accurate and the screen is incredibly evenly illuminated from center to edge. Lightyears improved over my old 2010 Dell Ultrasharp 32" 2K monitor. I'm quite certain the photo-editing BenQ model is measurably superior, but this "designer" monitor is so great that I have no regrets.

I also bought the BenQ monitor light for lighting up my worktop and that thing is fantastic as well.

For keyboard and mouse I went with the Logitech MX keys and mouse. Exceptional build quality on the keyboard and a good match to the Mac's space gray color.

I’m jealous! Photos please. I’m still rocking my old Dell 30” ultra sharp monitor. May have to get the new BenQ next year.

Glad you like it David, I’ll need to look up the benq monitor light as that’s caught my interest

I know the feeling...my last raise was January 2018, and last bonus worth talking about was December 2018...I am just glad to have the day job still.

I was out here alone under the stars. The EVF on my a7RII is not that great at night to be honest. Happy this one came out in focus. I think I could have shifted up a bit for more sky.

Awesome Alfredo!! Incredible nightscape. Is it illuminated by moon light? The starry sky looks so good: clear and pin-sharp.

I can't wait to see what the A1 is like to shoot in the pitch dark. First chance for me might be DV in February.

This is another fine image Alfredo. I agree, a touch more tilt up to get the top of the tree in there.

Heading out in the morning to go back to the mountains...fall color here is going to be short lived, it will be freezing up that way tonight and tomorrow night.

Yes, we had a quarter moon off to the left which illuminated the scene nicely. This was captured around 6 am. Sunrise was around 7:20 am.

I got lucky with my initial 15 sec exposure time at ISO3200. I illuminated the foreground with my head lamp at its brightest setting so I could focus about a third into the scene. Then locked on focus because manual focus on the a7RII in dark conditions is not super reliable. Then switched to manual focus, turned off my lamp, and fired off the shot. It worked well.

I hope I can get out for an early start in the mountains this Friday but part of me wants to go searching for some wildlife and try out the auto focus system.

Thanks Travis. Yeah I should have double checked my image border but missed it. I do have other compositions closer to the lake. Will see how those turn out.

Thank you Vinz! It's getting harder and harder to find a place like this and have it to yourself for a brief moment. I was grateful for the stillness. About 45 minutes later, other hikers started to show up.

I'm going to try a z9 and see how it goes for my wildlife. I really like the 500 PF lens, so I wanted to give Nikon another go. Right now I'm planning to keep my a7r III and Sony glass for general purpose. I'm a fan of both systems for different reasons, but have been underwhelmed until now with Nikon mirrorless.

I've been looking at this for some time now. you can use sony lens on Nikon body.

I would try the Sony a1 but that’s just me still being giddy over it. You already have the excellent 200-600.

A1 is amazing for sure and likely in my future. I let my 200-600 go to get the 500 pf, but can pick another up if I ever decide to swap back. It’s an amazing zoom for sure. The best I’ve ever used probably (I love the short throw)

I took this quick shot of my temporary desk setup. I've given no effort to do cable management; hopefully I can get things tidier in the finished office space when renovations are complete. Not much to see here - it's just a monitor - but I did want to show off the cool BenQ "Screen Bar" light fixture because it's just awesome. Also the puck (sitting on the monitor stand) lets me easily switch back and forth between displaying my MacBook Pro and my PC (which is sitting on the floor next to the desk).

It's going to take me a LOT of effort to get my stuff transitioned off my PC to the MacBook. Just transferring my Lightroom catalog will take hours.

BTW: the ugly moire in the photo is purely a downsampled thing. This display is beautifully smooth in person.
